SFist notes that the menu at the new Kitchen Story will have more of a Korean influence, including “a dish inspired by the hit art-house film Parasite, called Jjapaguri, which combines Millionaire’s Bacon with two classic Korean instant noodles.” Expect the 5422 College Avenue spot to open in the next few weeks.
The restaurant, which is known for its “Millionaire’s Bacon” (that is, bacon covered in sugar and spices) is owned by Hoyul Steven Choi, who is also behind Sweet Maple, Blackwood, and Berkeley Social Club. He doesn’t say where he is, however, and just posts a photo and a clue or two, along with an offer to buy a drink for anyone who manages to figure out where he is and shows up to “hang out, network, and trade contact information.” The meetups have now gotten so popular that even Steve Huffman, Reddit’s CEO, has made an appearance.Ĭastro-area restaurant Kitchen Story is opening a second location in Rockridge, SFist reports.
